Healthy Families Gadsden/Leon is a program of The Brehon Institute for Family Services, Inc. It is a free and voluntary home visiting program for expecting or new parents who have a newborn baby younger than 3 months of age.
Healthy Families provides in-home parenting education, information and support on: Prenatal information, education and birth preparation; Basic infant care education; Your baby’s growth and development using child developmental screening and monitoring; Fun and educational activities for parents and babies utilizing the latest research in brain development; Well baby care and immunization education; Family resources and referrals to community services; Child and home safety education; Support in setting and achieving family goals. Program services are provided for up to 3 to 5 years,depending on the needs and goals of your family.
Since services are delivered in-home the hours of operation are flexible. Program staff will work to provide visits at a time that is most convenient for you. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If needed, visits can be provided before or after typical working hours and on weekends.
